Building permit issued Town of Dix: 23 May

Demolition of the existing building completed, May

Work has begun in the Town of Dix on the next house.

We completed the house in early March. The Partner Family moved in to the house in late March and took ownership.

Despite COVID we managed to rehab and build the Logan House.

Interior walls are going up. First floor windows are being installed.

We finished the house in the Village of Montour Falls after a brief pause during COVID-19.

It was successfully financed through the U.S. Department of Agriculture by the partner family.

September: We closed on property in the Town of Hector to rehab a structure from a shell to a house!

We will get started on the build soon.

December: Our trailer is onsite now. A floor plan has been developed, basement windows and door installed, and initial interior work has begun.

The water line has been connected and the sewer drainage system inspected and pumped.

We will be building our 2nd house this year. Soon we will have a qualified partner family and can get to work building the house.

We have most of the money we need - but not quite.

We have the building lot - a great one, with sewer, gas, and water.

We are looking for volunteers to help build the house. See the Volunteer tab for information.

We have spent the entire year trying to qualify a family for the house build. it has been a tough road.

Meanwhile we are gradually assembling the $$$ necessary to complete the build.

Our new site for the next new SCHFH home is 306 Broadway Street, Montour Falls NY.

The Broadway property before demolition

The house has been demolished in preparation for our build.

December 23

Our first house closed and our first partner family moved in.

Our first house has been completed and will be dedicated November 1st.

Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity was listed as one of the 183 ENERGY STAR "new builder and developer partners".

Construction on the first Habitat for Humanity house in Schuyler County at 130 Havana Glen Road in Montour Falls began.

The official Ground Breaking ceremony was held at the site on May 5 th 4 PM.

A milestone was reached on December 7th. With help from Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce a ribbon cutting ceremony was held for our first build located on Havana Glen Road in Montour Falls. Even though the weather wasn't the greatest there was a fantastic turnout which is a testament to the enthusiasm our efforts are generating. Our speakers included Dennis Fagan - Schuyler County Legislature, John King - Montour Falls Mayor, Patti Butler - our Co-President, Marcia Douglas - our land donater and Dick Evans - one of our original founding members. This build is dedicated to the late Dave Centurelli. His wife and family members were in attendance and many kind words were spoken about Dave and his volunteerism. We were all very excited to see the local media in attendance - WENY, WETM and The Odessa File. There are stories, pictures and videos of our event on all of their web sites. After the ribbon cutting many gathered again at The Harvest Cafe in Montour Falls for a very generous reception with food and warmth! Thank you Harvest Cafe! You can see pictures of the event on our Havana Glen Build Photo History page.

We've obtained, through donation, a parcel of land on which we will build our first home! The lot is located in the Village of Montour Falls near Havana Glen.
