Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity broke ground for its second home on Wednesday, May 29th at 306 W. Broadway St. in Montour Falls.

The ceremony was at 4 p.m.

You can watch it here:

Habitat for Humanity President Bob Groll said the new construction comes after two years of fundraising and hard work removing the uninhabitable existing home.

We continue to seek donations of money and provisions of food and beverages.

We collect used printer cartridges, cellphones, PDAs and portable electronics, including the cords and chargers, for recycling.  You can find that information on the DONATE tab.

Volunteers also are needed to help build the home. For more information, contact Bob Groll at

You can help us build this home by purchasing a window, a door, or practically anything.  Just go to the Broadway Build Sponsorship page and look at the list!

Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity is a Local Partner with Yates County Habitat for Humanity, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.

We are located in the heart of the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York.  Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing organization that works in partnership with families in need to build and/or renovate decent, affordable housing.  The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit.

Volunteers participate in many ways.  They provide most of the labor to build a home, participate in monthly meetings, and provide decision-making support that leads to successful relationships for Habitat, partner families and the community.

Individual and corporate donors provide financial support and materials to build Habitat houses.

Partner families invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others.

Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity invites you to join us in our efforts.  Your skills, time and enthusiasm will provide affordable housing to others in our community.
