Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity
Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity is a Local Partner with Yates County Habitat for Humanity, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. We are located in the heart of the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York.
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical housing organization that works in partnership with families in need to build and/or renovate decent, affordable housing.
Habitat volunteers participate in many ways. They provide most of the labor to build a home, participate in monthly meetings, and provide decision-making support that leads to successful relationships for Habitat, Partner families and the Schuyler County community.
Donors, individual and corporate, and foundations provide financial support which helps build Habitat houses.
The Partner family must have a demonstable housing need and qualify to hold a mortgage on the home. As a mortgage holder, Partner families will own their homes and they must invest labor hours [aka sweat equity] into building their home.
Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity invites you to join us in our efforts. Your skills, time and enthusiasm will continue to provide affordable housing to others in Schuyler County.
